IRI’s mission is to advance sustainable development in South Sudan by generating, synthesizing, and disseminating high-quality research that strengthens education systems, governance, and institutional capacity. Through an interdisciplinary and evidence-based approach, the Institute promotes informed policymaking, transparency, accountability, and inclusive participation. By building local research capacity, creating accessible knowledge, and fostering collaboration with civil society, universities, and international partners, IRI seeks to address root causes of underdevelopment, support peace and stability, and empower communities. Its work ensures that policies and programs are data-driven, equitable, and capable of fostering long-term, inclusive national progress.
