Biography

Emmanuel John Alberto Beni is a seasoned professional with a distinguished 15-year career in human resources with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), serving in complex mission environments across Sudan, Darfur, and South Sudan. His hands-on experience in building and maintaining HR systems under challenging conditions forms the bedrock of his expertise.

Emmanuel’s academic foundation was established with a Diploma in Political Sciences from the College of Economics & Social Studies at Juba University. He is currently pursuing two concurrent master’s degrees: an LLM in Corporate Governance from the University of East London and an MSc in Human Resources Management from Liverpool John Moores University. This unique dual focus equips him with a powerful blend of legal and managerial perspectives, positioning him to address complex challenges at the intersection of people management, compliance, and strategic organizational leadership.

In addition to his formal degrees, Emmanuel has proactively pursued continuous professional development, earning certifications that solidify his expertise. These include the Human Resources Associate Professional (HRCI – SHRM-CP), Organizational Learning and Development, and Strategic Human Resources credentials, alongside specialized certificates in Managing Employee Problems, Recruitment and Onboarding, and International Human Resources Management.

As a Co-Founder and the Deputy Chairperson of the Youth & Education Research Centre in South Sudan, Emmanuel John Alberto Beni is instrumental in guiding the organization’s strategic vision and mission. In this leadership capacity, he leverages his extensive background in human resources with the United Nations and his advanced academic studies in corporate governance and HR management to champion initiatives that empower young South Sudanese. Emmanuel is deeply committed to translating research into actionable strategies that address critical issues in education, foster youth leadership, and create meaningful opportunities for the next generation.
